This Book is a Camera:
Now at MoMA

You can see the full video here »

This Book is a Camera is now being produced and distributed by The Museum of Modern Art!

What this means: you can now find it at MoMA and in museum-and-art bookstores all around the world! (aka- You can get a copy whose origin is not "my closet.") It also available on Amazon.

In conjuction with MoMA, I'm launching the book with an educational paper workshop, at the 53rd street store on June 3rd from 2-6pm. I'm also be showing how the book works this weekend May 14th at the Soho MoMA store from 2-6pm. Drop by say hi, make something, and/or bring your paper engineering or photography or design questions!

This ^ (and the legit-realness of This Book is a Planetarium on 9/26) means that I'll be travelling all-over-the-place talking about paper, the relationship between science and design, how to make invisible systems tactile, and the unacknowledged potential of humble materials. (There will also be some all-ages workshops to build surprising stuff out of paper. For more dates, scroll down…)

For an immediate fix of material-magic, check out NOVA's The Origami Revolution, which is shows how origami's folding/unfolding problems are being used to solve problems in a myriad of technical fields. (The principles scale in this fascinating way.)

Super-extra thanks to pals Alina Keay, Jen Snow, and Stefan Pelikan for the help in building the pop-up for the stop-motion video. On the scene, there were many little pieces of fishing line:

Thanks again and happy shooting!
