A Class
We're taking the summer off, but will add more classes in the Fall. Be notified when this happens by filling out this form.
This workshop, taught by Kelli Anderson and Keegan Mills Cooke, will consist of physical and digital components. The class will be held over Zoom (where we will learn how to prep files for RISO animation), but your frames will actually be printed, scanned, and mailed to you. Over Zoom, we will cover the entire process of printing a short looping animation: from outputting frames, to automating a contact sheet, to choosing color separations, printing, and finally: stitching it all back together again. We will go over file setup (instruction will be led in Photoshop, but alternative tool ideas are welcome!), as well as the basic operation of the machine, changing between different color drums, and the accurate registration of multiple colors. (We will print the frames from about 6-10pm EST, all are free to come by! 281 N 7th Street, Brooklyn.) These contact sheets will then be scanned, shared among participants, and we will stitch the frames back together. Everyone attending will receive: printed contact sheets (USPS mail) and scans of those contact sheets.
Note: Attendees should have basic Photoshop skills—we will use Photoshop heavily for file prep. Attendees will need to bring in a short animation or gif to be printed.$155
- 5$ is included for domestic contact sheet packaging and/or mailing (shipping might possibly more. if your international shipping exceeds 15$- we'll reach out if that is the case.)
